Patrice Pike’s music defies genre, blending rock, R&B, soul, jazz, and world influences. More than a style, her sound is an experience—one that inspires, evokes emotion, and reflects the human condition.
Her well-crafted lyrics tackle tough topics like poverty and gun control, yet always carry a message of hope and resilience. Whether on vocals, guitar, or percussion, Pike’s music encourages compassion and celebration of life.
A Dallas native, Pike moved to Austin in 1992 and fronted the acclaimed jam band Sister Seven, earning Billboard recognition with Know What You Mean. After the band disbanded, she continued collaborating with guitarist Wayne Sutton, later forming Pike and Sutton and releasing Heart Is a Compass in 2020.
Following the pandemic’s impact on live music, Pike regrouped with Hunter Hendrickson and John Bush (formerly of Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians) to create new music, set for release in 2024.
She has toured with Blues Traveler, Sarah MacLachlan, the Allman Brothers, Dave Matthews, John Fogerty, Sinead O’Connor, and many more.
